Savings....

Well…I did it! I have started couponing. Although it does take a little time in planning and searching the saving are worth it.

This weekend I went to K-Mart and took advantage of their toys on clearance. Not only were their toys on clearance but they were also 50% off the clearance price! I stocked up for future birthday parties and some stuff for the boys for Christmas. The original price of the toys I purchased were $407.76 but I ONLY paid $136.85. What a bargain!!! I got some REALLY great toys too! They include Batman figures, Batman Bat mobile (13.50), Hanna Montana and High School Musical board games ($5 each), High School Musical barbie ($5), Hulk Operation board game, Disney board game and SO many other great things!

I found some saving at CVS as well. I spent $23.67 and was able to get…
2 Dawn liquid detergent soap
1 pack of Papers Diapers
2 cans of Febreeze spray
2 tubes of Crest toothpaste
1 Orajel toothpaste
1Bubble tape and 1 sweet tart (only because the boys were with me)
That is a savings of $14.54!!!! I decided to make a second trip to get another pack of diapers that were on sale for $8.99-$2 coupon-CVS coupon and only paid $6.73 for a pack of diapers!

I’ll continue to coupon as long as I have the time and energy!

Seriously...

The boys have been sick the entire month of May! Before we left for the beach I had taken both of the boys, on separate occasions, to the doctor. Tyler had a sinus infection and Caleb and pink eye. A 10-day round of antibiotics was prescribed. They finished the medication treatment up while we were at the beach. Ahhhh…. glad they are feeling better…but wait…they are not better. The week we returned both boys had snotty runny noses and some congestion at night. So...mommy gave them Benadryl for the next week but they were still sick. Allergy season in TN has arrived so…Zyrtec for the both of them for a week. Better yet??? NOPE! So maybe Dimetapp will do. NOPE! That’s it…they are still sick so they are going back to the doctor! The verdict is…severe sinus infections for both boys. Both boys are now on a 14-day cycle of antibiotics. The doctor seemed concerned that Caleb’s was oozing out of his eyes and that Tyler’s really couldn't’t be seen. He was pretty certain that this round would take care of Caleb’s but not for Tyler. If Tyler is not any better after this round of treatment then he will be put on a second round for 20 days. He is worried that the drainage is stuck in the sinus cavity located at the temple. I sure hope it starts draining out because if not we will be off to the ENT. This is probably the cause for Tyler’s behavior issues over the past few weeks, which I think, is a good thing. At least we know now that he REALLY does’t feel well and is not just being mean or having emotional issues (like sensory).

Tyler did learn a new trick out of all of this. He learned that if he said he was “sick” that he didn’t have to go to school and he could stay with Grandma. It only worked once and I caught on real quick to what he was doing. One day on the way to school he said…”mommy, I can’t go to school today because I have allergies.” Well, you have to give him credit for trying.

Strive...

striving - an effortful attempt to attain a goal wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

We all have good days and bad days. For us…it has been a very busy this spring. All of the daily hustle and bustle activities can allow any family to often-loose site of what is really important. As I was watching TV the other night I became inspired and this topic just came to me. I just thought to my self that I could probably do a lot more that I was already doing. So for me, I will strive to be a more spiritual child of God, wife, mother and friend. Do I think I am horrible at any of these…No…but I can still strive to do more and be more than I am!

A Rookie...

Well...I did it! I'm now a blogger. I must say that I am a rookie at this and it will take a little while to figure it all out. I hope that you will follow me in my journey as a mother, wife and friend as I document my life...the good the bad the ugly.
